Protecting Educational Rights
Dr. Stambaugh has served First Coast residents with advocacy services to correct unresponsive or mistaken school administrations. Whether the issues are obtaining a free and appropriate public education (FAPE) for a student with special needs, or assisting with disciplinary decisions, or with procuring health services, she has been committed to achieving the best resolution for students and their families.
Ensuring students’ educational opportunities through federal protections such as Section 504 and IDEA can be a daunting and time-consuming challenge. Dr. Stambaugh has provided a best defense with her experience and advocacy to mediate what should be the common interests of student and faculty. During her work with Duval County Public and Charter schools, she oversaw Section 504 functions and was central to cases involving the Office for Civil Rights (OCR)
